Visit the IMM, and take a look at the National Costumes of Nepal, in all its glory
60 + Photographs of costumes by Persijs Muiznieks
If you maintain a friendly relationship in the field of culture, there is no doubt you will enjoy Nepal. However, before getting there, in the International Mountain Museum IMM, we recommend you take a short trip to get acquainted with museum exhibits more closely, and choose a convenient time to get there.
More than than 65 ethnic/caste groups are displayed in the International Mountain Museum in Nepal. Nepal comprises more or less 400 ethnic and caste groups, with the largest having more than three million in population.
This is just a small part of the extensive project, National Costumes of Nepal, which lasted for two years. So you can imagine how big and responsible work is still ahead.
The project is planned to be continued in August 2018 (see project) and fully completed in 2019. Anyone, regardless of profession, is invited to take part in this project.
In absence or presence; anthropologists, ethnographers and other interested parties who are interested in the cultural values of Nepal, are invited to make comments and suggestions. Your help will be a great informative contribution to the next project and the book I am working on.
However, if you have a special interest in the field of culture of Nepal, I will be grateful for any amount of donation.
